As of now, Netflix has not officially confirmed a second season of Ransom Canyon. However, there is strong evidence suggesting that a continuation is in development. Showrunner April Blair revealed that the writers’ room is already active, working on scripts for Season 2, even though the series hasn’t been formally renewed.

Release Date Expectations

Given the production timeline of the first season—filmed between February and June 2024 and released in April 2025—a similar schedule would suggest that, if greenlit soon, Season 2 could premiere in late 2026 or early 2027.

Returning Cast

While casting for Season 2 hasn’t been officially announced, it’s expected that most of the main cast will return, including:

  • Minka Kelly as Quinn O’Grady
  • Josh Duhamel as Staten Kirkland
  • Eoin Macken as Davis Collins
  • Jack Schumacher as Yancy Grey
  • Marianly Tejada as Ellie Catawnee
  • Lizzy Greene as Lauren Brigman
  • Philip Winchester as Sheriff Dan Brigman
  • Andrew Liner as Reid Collins
  • Garrett Wareing as Lucas Russell

James Brolin, whose character Cap Fuller died in Season 1, is unlikely to return, except possibly in flashback scenes.

Plot Developments

Season 2 is expected to include a time jump, as Quinn departs for New York at the end of Season 1. The new season will likely explore the implications of her absence and return, as well as unresolved storylines involving Staten, Davis, and Senator Kirkland. The show will continue to delve into themes of love, land, and legacy.
